The two excursions to Huseby bruk and to the elk safari are part of the schedule for the meeting. The other two, the IKEA museum and the garden of Råshult, are optional.
Huseby ironworks has a history that goes back to the Viking era. Coming to Huseby is like stepping back in time and landing in another world. Here the water wheels spin, the peacocks stroll in the garden and the housemaid sweeps in the castle.
You will go on an exciting train journey through the elk kingdom in the Småland forest. In order to gain a deeper understanding of the 600 kg heavy animals, the train driver guides you through the journey.
Next door to the hotel you find the very first IKEA store. Today it’s a museum with both temporary and permanent exhibitions. The museum tells the story of how the worldwide corporation got started in this small town in the middle of Småland and how the company has shaped the way swedish people live. There is a little bit of IKEA in every Swedish home.
